报告摘要:晶体管和集成电路是20世纪下半叶最大的技术革命。近50年来,集成电路技术沿着摩尔定律往前发展,影响了整个人类社会和我们的日常生活。然而,当主流集成电路技术达到3nm节点时,由器件微缩带来的芯片性能提升趋于饱和,成本红利消失,未来基础器件和集成技术的创新将成为集成电路发展的重要推动力。中国集成电路的发展面临来自材料、装备、制造、设计等多个方面的挑战,产业综合实力不强制约了企业的科技创新能力,结合我国集成电路产业的发展现状,提出若干思考。
个人简介:刘明,中国科学院微电子研究所研究员,IEEE Fellow,中国科学院院士,发展中国家科学院院士。1985和1988年分别获得合肥工业大学学士和硕士学位,1998年获得北京航空航天大学博士学位。长期从事微电子科学技术领域的研究,研究兴趣主要是存储器机理模型、材料结构、核心共性技术和芯片集成等。
报告摘要:Many industries are going through tectonic shift in the next decade with the advent of Digitalization 3.0. This New Wave of Digitalization has presented a historical opportunity to transform the existing industrial landscape with advanced machine learning algorithms, increasing computing powers, new infrastructure with 5G, neuromorphic computing. In this talk, Dr Zhang will speak about the New Wave of Digitalization from technological and industrial perspectives. 个人简介:张亚勤博士是清华大学“智能科学”讲席教授,清华大学智能产业研究院院长。他于2014年9月至2019年10月担任百度公司总裁。出任百度总裁前,张亚勤博士曾在微软公司工作16年,历任全球资深副总裁兼微软亚太研发集团主席、微软亚洲研究院院长兼首席科学家、微软中国董事长、和微软移动全球副总裁。 张亚勤博士是数字视频和人工智能领域的世界级科学家和企业家,拥有60多项美国专利,发表500多篇学术论文,并出版11本专著。他发明的多项图像视频压缩和传输技术被国际标准采用,广泛地应用于高清电视、互联网视频、多媒体检索、移动视频、和图像数据库领域。他是世界经济论坛达沃斯“未来交通指导委员会”唯一来自中国的委员,并担任全球最大技术开放平台Apollo联盟理事长。他也是联合国计划发展总署(UNDP)企业董事会董事。 张亚勤博士在国际上获得过诸多专业奖项和荣誉,2019年当选美国艺术与科学院院士;2017年荣膺澳洲国家工程院(ATSE)院士,也是该年度授予的唯一外籍院士;1997年他被授予IEEE院士,成为历史上获得这一荣誉最年轻的科学家,并于2004年获得IEEE技术先锋奖。张亚勤博士在十余所世界顶尖高校担任校董、荣誉或客座教授,并在5家高科技公司担任董事。
报告摘要:In this keynote address, Dr. Hwang will assess the fusion of 5G mobile cores, AI chips and servers, satellite system, and network slicing techniques for building industrial Internet of Things (IoT), enterprise supply chains, and AI-oriented smart cloud involving social media networks, business, industrial, and healthcare datacenters. He will share the first-hand system design and benchmark testing experiences of a new pioneering 5G cloud/AIoT platform just completed construction on the CUHK-Shenzhen campus in 2020. This research cloud was custom designed and constructed with commercial hardware and open-source software from Inspur, Intel, Nvidia, and OpenStack, etc. at the Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Society (AIRS), affiliated with the CUHK-SZ. The system design was optimized mainly for industrial and healthcare applications. We develop big data analytics, edge clouds for AIoT (for AI+IoT), machine learning, and innovative robotics applications. We will offer the system as a hybrid public cloud to serve the Greater Pearl River Bay area in southern China.
个人简介:Kai Hwang is a Presidential Chair Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Shenzhen, where he heads the AIRS Research Center for Smart Cloud and Industrial IoT. He received the Ph.D. in EECS from UC Berkeley. Prior to joining CUHK-SZ in 2018, he has taught at Purdue Univ. and Univ. of Southern California for many years. Dr. Hwang has published extensively. His Google Scholar citation has exceeded 20,000 times with an h-index of 62. An IEEE Life Fellow, he received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Computer Federation of China (CFC) in 2005, and the Lifetime Achievement Award, IEEE CloudCom in 2012. In 2019, he received the PRC 70 Anniversary Award in Science and Innovation among the 70 most influential Chinese, globally.

个人简介:Jiang Tao is the vice president of Huawei Computing Product Line, responsible for strategy and business development. Over 19 years of experience in ICT industry. Currently responsible for the overall strategy and business development of computing products and solutions, including Kunpeng Computing, Ascend Computing and x86 computing, covering ARM motherboards, ARM servers, AI modules, inference and training boards, edge computing equipment, AI servers, AI clusters, x86 servers, etc. Prior to Huawei, Jiang Tao acquired a master degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. 姜涛是华为计算产品线副总裁,负责战略与业务发展。 他具有超过19年ICT从业经验,当前负责华为计算产品线整体战略和业务发展策略,业务范围包括鲲鹏计算、昇腾计算和x86计算,覆盖ARM主板,ARM服务器,AI模组,推理、训练板卡,边缘计算设备,AI服务器,AI集群、x86服务器等。 加入华为之前,姜涛在华中科技大学获得硕士学位。

报告摘要:For years there has been interest in the possibility of building a reliable odor reproduction system (ORS), with its vast spectrum of applications: from e-commerce, games and video, via the food and cosmetics industry, to medical diagnosis. Such a system would enable an output device --- the whiffer --- to release an imitation of an odor read in by an input device --- the sniffer --- upon command. To realize this scheme, one must carry out deep and complex research that combines computer science and mathematics with chemistry, physics and biochemistry, and brain science with psychophysical work and human physiological experimentation. In the process, we expect a deep understanding of this least understood of our senses to emerge. I will discuss the feasibility of an ORS, and, time permitting, will also address the question (not unlike Turing’s 1950 question about artificial intelligence) of how to test the validity of a candidate ORS, in face of the impossibility of naming odors in general, and despite the fact that such systems still being far from being viable.
个人简介:Prof. Harel is the Vice President of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and has been at the Weizmann Institute of Science since 1980, serving in the past as Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. He has worked in logic and computability, software and systems engineering, modeling biological systems, odor reproduction, and more. Among his books are “Algorithmics: The Spirit of Computing”and “Computers Ltd.: What They?Really?Can't Do”. His?awards include the ACM Outstanding Educator Award, the Israel Prize, the ACM Software System Award and five honorary degrees. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS), and a foreign member of the US National Academy of Engineering, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the US National Academy of Sciences.
