演讲摘要:In this talk, Prof. Duan will review the recent progress on trapped ion quantum computing and networking, including the realization of large-scale quantum simulation of dynamics in Hubbard-type models beyond the classical simulation capability and the implementation of the dual-type qubits with crosstalk errors significantly below the error threshold, a key component for quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum computing.
讲者简介:段路明,于1994年和1998年在中国科技大学分别获学士和博士学位,历任美国密歇根大学助理教授、副教授、教授、费米讲席教授,2018年全职回国任清华大学姚期智讲座教授、基础科学讲席教授。曾获饶毓泰基础光学奖、霍英东青年研究奖、美国斯隆研究奖、海外华人物理学会杰出研究奖等,2009年当选美国物理学会会士。
段路明从事量子计算和量子网络方向的研究,完成了量子信息领域的一些开创性工作,提出“DLCZ(Duan-Lukin-Cirac-Zoller)量子中继方案和网络量子计算方案,为实现长距离量子通信和可扩展量子计算奠定了基础。段路明在一些国际重要学术刊物发表论文200余篇,包括《现代物理评论》(2篇),《自然》(8篇),《科学》(3篇)、《物理评论快报》 (50多篇)等,迄今论文谷歌学术引用33,000多次。
Bio: Prof. Luming Duan received his bachelor and Ph. D degree from USTC in1994 and 1998, respectively. After appointments of assistant, associate, full professor and Fermi collegiate chair professor at the University of Michigan, he returned to China in 2018 full-time and took the CC Yao Professor and the chair professorship in fundamental sciences at Tsinghua University. He received numerous awards, including Rao Ru-Tai fundamental optics prize, Huo Ying-Dong Prize, A. P. Sloan Fellowship, and was elected to the APS fellowship in 2009.
